FIFA President Gianni Infantino Abandons $20 Billion World Cup Equity Plan

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has decided to abandon his proposal to sell equity in the World Cup after facing significant backlash from various soccer federations worldwide. This decision comes amid threats of a boycott from European federations and strong opposition from within FIFA itself.

Infantino's plan involved merging FIFA's commercial operations into a $20 billion spinoff company, with a New York investment firm identified as the lead investor.
