Filip Chytil to Miss Game Against Maple Leafs
Filip Chytil will not be part of the Vancouver Canucks' lineup for their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday.
Canucks head coach Manny Malhotra confirmed that Chytil did not participate in practice on Friday and will take the day off. The team later announced his placement on injured reserve, with Jacob Quillan being recalled from the Abbotsford Canucks as a corresponding move.
Chytil suffered a hard hit from Darnell Nurse of the San Jose Sharks during a game on Thursday and is undergoing evaluation for a re-aggravated upper-body injury that previously sidelined him for the first eight games of the season. The 27-year-old has recorded two assists in seven games this season and is in his third year with the Canucks, having played only 34 games due to injuries.
