Ford Expands LMDh Testing Program with Second Car
Ford is set to enhance its LMDh testing program by adding a second car later this month, preparing for its entry into the World Endurance Championship Hypercar category next season.
The American manufacturer has conducted initial tests with a single chassis developed alongside ORECA Motorsport. The upcoming test at Monza will feature one car focused on mechanical performance and the other on control systems, following a strategy similar to Ferrari's.
Ford's early testing has shown promising results, with the LMDh powered by a 5.4-litre V8 engine. The company has completed significant testing at various circuits, including approximately 1300km at Paul Ricard and a similar distance at Portimao. The name of Ford's 2027 WEC contender will be unveiled at the car's official launch on Thanksgiving later this month.
