Former Brookside Actor Sentenced to Nine Years for Modelling Fraud
Philip Foster, a former actor known for his role in the soap opera Brookside, has been sentenced to nine years in prison for his involvement in a £13.6 million modelling fraud. Foster, 51, was arrested in Spain in September after evading trial and was extradited to the UK.
He had previously been sentenced in absentia to eight and a half years for fraud and money laundering in February 2025. The court heard that Foster operated fake modelling agencies for over eight years, deceiving thousands of aspiring models into paying for services that did not lead to legitimate job opportunities.
During the trial, it was revealed that Foster lived a lavish lifestyle funded by the fraudulent scheme, including purchasing luxury items. His defense cited personal tragedies, including the deaths of his wife and son, but the judge condemned his actions and described him as a coward for fleeing justice.
