Former Cricket Captains Call for Medical Care for Imran Khan

A coalition of 21 former international cricket captains, including Greg Chappell and Sunil Gavaskar, has appealed to the Pakistani government for humane treatment and adequate medical care for Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister and cricket captain of Pakistan.

The appeal follows a recent order from Pakistan's Supreme Court for Khan to be transferred to a hospital for a medical evaluation by a board that includes his personal doctors. However, his hospital stay was brief, and he was examined by a state-appointed team instead, raising concerns from his family and legal representatives.

The former captains emphasized the need for the Supreme Court's directive to be fully honored, including allowing Khan's doctors to conduct a thorough health assessment, ensuring uninterrupted family visits, and providing timely treatment based on the medical board's recommendations. They highlighted the importance of basic decency in fulfilling court orders regarding medical care.
