Former NFL Quarterback Bob Lee Passes Away at 81

Bob Lee, a former NFL quarterback, passed away on August 17 in San Francisco, as announced by the University of Pacific. He was 81 years old.

Lee was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the 17th round of the 1968 NFL Draft and had two stints with the team. He also played for the Atlanta Falcons from 1973 to 1974 and the Los Angeles Rams from 1979 to 1980. During his rookie year in 1969, he won an NFL championship with the Vikings.

Although primarily a backup, Lee started 30 games in his career, achieving a record of 19 wins and 11 losses. He accumulated 5,034 passing yards, with 30 touchdowns and 40 interceptions over 77 games. After retiring, he served as the director of athletics at Pacific from 1991 to 1996, where he contributed to the development of several athletic facilities. Lee is survived by his wife, Janice, their three children, and six grandchildren.
