Former Penn State Soccer Players to Compete on The Amazing Race
Ali Krieger and Joanna Lohman, two former Penn State women's soccer players, are set to compete on the 39th season of The Amazing Race, a reality competition show where teams of two race around the world. The new season will premiere on CBS on September 30 and features 13 teams competing for a $1 million prize.
Krieger and Lohman, who last played together for the Washington Spirit in 2016, will travel to five continents and nine countries, covering over 25,000 miles, starting in Canada and ending in Honolulu, Hawaii. The show, hosted by Phil Keoghan, was filmed from September 22 to October 17, 2025, and also includes stops in Albania, Morocco, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand.
Both Krieger and Lohman had successful soccer careers, with Lohman becoming the first four-time First Team All-Big Ten selection in Penn State history and Krieger leading the Nittany Lions to the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in her final two years. They will now put their skills to the test in a different kind of competition, racing against other teams for the top prize.
