Former Ukraine Ambassador Faces Allegations of Illegal Enrichment

Olha Stefanishyna, who was removed from her position as Ukraine's ambassador to the U.S. earlier this week, is being investigated for illegal enrichment and not declaring her assets, according to authorities.

Prosecutors allege that Stefanishyna, a former deputy prime minister, concealed two apartments and other assets valued at approximately $310,000, which could not have been acquired through her official salary. The alleged offenses reportedly occurred between early 2024 and mid-2025.

While authorities did not name Stefanishyna in accordance with Ukrainian law, they referenced her former role. She has publicly denied any wrongdoing, asserting that she has nothing to hide. Her dismissal follows a broader reshuffle of senior officials in Ukraine's government, which has created instability within the political landscape.
