Former Warriors Employees File Discrimination Lawsuit

Two former employees of the Golden State Warriors, Lisa Shelley and Jennifer Vasquez, have initiated a lawsuit against the NBA team in San Francisco County Superior Court, claiming discrimination based on gender, age, and race, as well as workplace harassment and retaliation linked to their terminations.

The lawsuit details that Shelley, who held the position of associate general counsel, and Vasquez, the vice president of diversity, equity, and inclusion, experienced a hostile work environment. They assert that their experiences led to emotional distress and humiliation, prompting them to seek damages and an order to prevent further discrimination within the organization.

In their claims, Shelley alleges she was overlooked for promotions despite significant contributions, while Vasquez describes a culture of intimidation and isolation. The Warriors have publicly denied the allegations, asserting their commitment to an inclusive workplace and stating that the claims lack credible evidence.
