Formula 1 Unveils 2027 Championship Calendar
Formula 1 and the FIA have officially released the calendar for the 2027 FIA Formula One World Championship, following approval from the World Motor Sport Council.
The season will commence with pre-season testing in Bahrain from February 24-27, leading into the first race and subsequent events in Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan, and China. The calendar also includes the Miami and Canadian Grands Prix, a return to Portugal in June after Monaco, and Turkey rejoining in October. The season will conclude with races in Austin, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and Las Vegas, finishing with rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
For the 2027 season, the number of Sprint events has increased from six to ten, reflecting the format's popularity among fans and broadcasters. New Sprint events will be held in Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco, and Abu Dhabi, allowing for two qualifying sessions in Monaco. The FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, emphasized the calendar's global appeal and growth, while F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali highlighted the excitement and intensity that the expanded Sprint program will bring to the season.
