Formula E Confirms Jeddah Opener Will Proceed Amid Regional Conflict

Formula E has announced that it plans to proceed with the opening round of the Gen4 era at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit on December 18, despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The series has received assurances from local authorities and international organizations that the situation in Jeddah remains safe for the event. Formula E's chief championship officer noted that they are in regular contact with local officials and have contingency plans in place should the situation change.

While Formula 1 and MotoGP have faced cancellations of their events in the region, Formula E is confident about its plans, having successfully held a race in Saudi Arabia earlier this year before the escalation of conflict. The Jeddah event is significant as it will mark the debut of the new Gen 4 car, which boasts enhanced performance capabilities.
