Four Net Bowlers Join Indian Team for Sri Lanka Tests
Harsh Dubey, Shivang Kumar, Tanush Kotian, and Vipraj Nigam have joined the Indian cricket team as net bowlers in preparation for the upcoming two-Test series against Sri Lanka, which begins on August 15.
The Indian team has arrived in Sri Lanka and will play a four-day practice match in Colombo starting August 7, prior to the Test series. The first Test is scheduled at Galle International Cricket Stadium from August 15 to 19, followed by the second Test at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo from August 23 to 27.
India is facing several injury challenges, with fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah ruled out due to a knee injury. Auqib Nabi has been named as his replacement. Other players, including Harshit Rana and Washington Sundar, are also sidelined due to injuries. The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle, where India currently holds the fifth position in the standings.
