Fourteen Former Penn State Players Cut from NFL Teams
The NFL preseason has concluded, leading to roster cuts as all 32 teams finalized their 53-man rosters. Fourteen former Penn State players were among those who did not secure a spot for the upcoming season.
Notable cuts include defensive end Adisa Isaac from the Baltimore Ravens, who struggled with injuries, and center Nick Dawkins, also from Baltimore, who was unable to make the final roster after joining as an undrafted free agent. Other players released include quarterback Will Levis from the Tennessee Titans and tight end Khalil Dinkins from the San Francisco 49ers, who may return to the practice squad.
The Washington Commanders released linebacker Curtis Jacobs, while the Cincinnati Bengals waived quarterback Sean Clifford and cornerback Jalen Kimber. Additionally, linebacker Jesse Luketa was let go by the New England Patriots, and long snapper Tyler Duzansky did not make the Las Vegas Raiders' roster. Despite these cuts, all eight Nittany Lions drafted in 2026 have secured spots on NFL teams.
