Fran Kirby Expresses Disappointment Over Dario Vidosic's Departure from Brighton
Fran Kirby, a former England striker, has voiced her disappointment regarding the sudden departure of Brighton head coach Dario Vidosic, which occurred just before the start of the season. Vidosic, who led Brighton to their first FA Cup final and achieved notable league finishes, left the club on August 28, shortly before their opening match against Arsenal.
Kirby noted that the timing of Vidosic's exit was challenging, as the team had not yet trained under the new manager, Arturo Ruiz, who was appointed the same day. Brighton faced a tough start to the season, losing their opener to Arsenal and failing to secure a win in their first four league matches under Ruiz, although they did achieve a 5-1 victory against Charlton before the international break.
As Brighton prepares to face Manchester City, Kirby acknowledged the difficulties of adapting to a new coaching style so close to the season's start. Despite the challenges, she expressed confidence in the team's potential to improve and perform well against strong opponents.
