Francesco Bagnaia Comments on Cancellation of Australian GP
Francesco Bagnaia has indicated that MotoGP riders were not involved in the decision to cancel the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island, which was called off due to adverse weather conditions on Sunday.
The race was cancelled after heavy rain and strong winds created poor visibility, preventing safe racing conditions. Despite the cancellation, Bagnaia emphasized the need to respect the decision made by the championship organizers, citing safety as a primary concern.
Although he expressed disappointment at not being able to race, Bagnaia acknowledged the challenging conditions and noted that riders had previously competed in worse weather. Following the cancellation, riders completed demonstration laps behind the Safety Car to thank fans at the venue, which was expected to host a significant final day of MotoGP racing.
