Francesco Bagnaia Faces Frustration at Malaysian GP Practice
Francesco Bagnaia experienced disappointment during the opening practice session for the MotoGP Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang on Friday. Despite entering the event with confidence due to his strong past performances at the track, he was unable to secure a spot in Q2, finishing outside the top 10.
Bagnaia, who has struggled throughout the season, crashed while attempting to improve his lap time. He noted that while his bike performed well in the straight sections, he lost significant time in the other sectors. He recorded the second-fastest time in sector one and the third-fastest in sector four, but ultimately placed 12th overall.
After the session, Bagnaia mentioned that the track conditions were not ideal, referencing a lack of resurfacing work that had been planned but not completed. He acknowledged that his feeling on the bike was different compared to previous sessions, indicating ongoing challenges with performance.
