Francisco Lindor Receives 2026 Roberto Clemente Award
Francisco Lindor, the shortstop for the New York Mets, has been awarded the Roberto Clemente Award by Major League Baseball in recognition of his humanitarian contributions.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place before Game 3 of the World Series. Lindor, a five-time All-Star, is the fifth player of Puerto Rican descent to receive this honor, following notable recipients such as Edgar Martinez and Yadier Molina.
Alongside his wife Katia, Lindor has supported various charitable organizations, including the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Special Olympics Florida. He has also contributed to relief efforts in Puerto Rico and funded educational initiatives in New York. The Roberto Clemente Award celebrates players who exemplify character and community involvement, named after the late baseball star who died in a humanitarian mission.
