Franco Colapinto Calls for End to Online Abuse from Fans
Franco Colapinto has made a strong appeal to Argentinian fans to stop the online abuse directed at various individuals in the motorsport community. This statement follows a series of incidents after recent races in Zandvoort, Madrid, and Baku, where hateful comments were aimed at FIA stewards, Pierre Gasly, and Lando Norris.
Colapinto, who had previously been hesitant to address the issue, acknowledged the negative behavior of some fans while also noting that such hostility is not exclusive to Argentinian supporters. In a recent video posted on Instagram, he expressed gratitude for the support he receives but emphasized that the criticism and attacks on fellow drivers and team members are counterproductive.
Currently, Colapinto is secure in his career, having signed a new contract with Alpine for the 2027 season. He is positioned 12th in the 2026 standings with 27 points, while his teammate Gasly holds 10th place with 41 points.
