Franco Colapinto Faces Challenges at Zandvoort with Alpine Upgrade

Franco Colapinto is experiencing a challenging situation at Zandvoort, where Alpine has allocated its only significant upgrade package to Pierre Gasly, leaving Colapinto with the previous car specification for another race.

The upgrade was initially intended for both drivers at Monza but was advanced due to positive simulator results. Colapinto expressed uncertainty about his position, recognizing that while staying competitive with Gasly could reflect positively on him, a significant performance gap might indicate the upgrade's effectiveness.

Colapinto emphasized the importance of the upgrade, which he hopes will enhance their performance in the latter part of the season. He noted that Alpine needs to regain ground in the midfield battle and sees potential in Yuki Tsunoda's temporary return, suggesting that the team should capitalize on any opportunities to score points and improve their standings.
