Frank Warren Plans Heavyweight Unification Fights for 2027
Promoter Frank Warren has expressed his intention to organize heavyweight world-title unification fights in 2027, aiming to include former undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk in these matchups.
This announcement comes as Daniel Dubois prepares to defend his WBO title against Fabio Wardley at the O2 Arena in London. Their rematch follows a previous encounter in which Dubois overcame two early knockdowns to win in the 11th round.
Warren, who also promotes WBC champion Agit Kabayel and IBF title-holder Filip Hrgovic, believes that the winner of the Dubois-Wardley fight will be well-positioned to pursue additional world titles. He also mentioned that the WBA 'super' heavyweight championship will be contested in the upcoming fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua on December 11, although the WBA has yet to confirm this arrangement.
