Freddy Peralta Named ALCS MVP as Rays Advance to World Series
The Tampa Bay Rays have secured a spot in the World Series for the third time in their history, largely due to the contributions of Freddy Peralta, who was named ALCS MVP. In Game 6, Peralta limited the Cleveland Guardians to just one run over 5 ⅓ innings, showcasing his dominance throughout the series.
Across two starts and one relief appearance in the ALCS, Peralta allowed only one run in a total of 12 innings. His standout moments included a six-inning shutout in Game 2 and a critical relief appearance in Game 4, where he preserved a narrow lead by retiring key batters. Acquired from the New York Mets at the trade deadline, Peralta has posted a 2.75 ERA in 72 innings with the Rays.
Peralta's successful transition to the Rays involved adjustments to his pitching style, which have significantly improved his performance. As he prepares to face the Milwaukee Brewers, his former team, in the World Series, Peralta's strong showing has also enhanced his prospects as he heads into free agency.
