Fremantle Coach Confirms Mason Cox as Second Ruck for Final Against Hawthorn
Fremantle's coach Justin Longmuir has announced that Mason Cox will continue as the second ruck behind Luke Jackson for the qualifying final against Hawthorn at Optus Stadium on Thursday.
The decision comes amid ongoing discussions about the second-ruck position, particularly due to Sean Darcy's ongoing injury issues. Cox has participated in 16 games this season, while Darcy has only played seven, although he has been active in the WAFL with Peel Thunder.
Longmuir expressed confidence in Cox's performance, stating that he has done enough to retain his position. Meanwhile, Hawthorn will rely on Lloyd Meek for their ruck duties, with additional support from Mabior Chol and Josh Weddle. Ned Reeves, who recently played in the VFL, is also vying for a spot in the Hawks' lineup.
