Fremantle Coach Relieved Over Alex Pearce's Injury Status
Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir has expressed relief regarding the health of captain Alex Pearce, who sustained a knee knock during the team's victory over Adelaide on Friday night.
Pearce, who had been rested the previous week to prepare for the finals, experienced a concerning moment when he collided knee-on-knee with teammate Oscar McDonald. Despite appearing sore and struggling to walk for several minutes, Pearce managed to complete the match, leading Longmuir to believe he will be fit to play in the final round against Carlton.
Longmuir noted that the team has an eight-day break, and if Pearce is cleared, he will participate in the upcoming game. The coach reflected on his decision to rest Pearce, questioning its necessity given the injury scare but ultimately relieved that Pearce is fine. Additionally, forward Patrick Voss had a challenging night but contributed significantly in other ways, finishing with seven disposals, seven tackles, and three goal assists.
