Fremantle Ruckman Sean Darcy Linked to Potential Trade to Richmond
Fremantle ruckman Sean Darcy has been associated with a potential trade to Richmond as he finds it difficult to secure a place in the senior team.
Currently, Darcy is playing for Peel Thunder in the WAFL, having fallen behind Luke Jackson and Mason Cox in the ruck hierarchy under coach Justin Longmuir. Despite being under contract until 2030, Darcy's performance has been hindered by injuries and form issues, limiting him to 36 games since signing a significant contract at the end of 2023.
Discussions on The Outer Wing podcast suggested that Darcy could be valuable in the trade market, especially as Fremantle looks to improve their draft position. While the team is focused on winning their first premiership, there is speculation that moving Darcy could yield a late first-round or early second-round draft pick. Richmond is also exploring other options for a ruckman, having missed out on Nick Madden and now considering Kieren Briggs.
