Fundraising Appeal for Fallen Officers Raises Over £1.2 Million

A fundraising initiative aimed at supporting the families of two police officers who died in a head-on collision has successfully closed, amassing over £1.2 million.

The Cleveland Police Federation organized the appeal following the tragic deaths of PCs Matthew Blades and Tom Clough on August 22, during a crash on the A66 near Middlesbrough that also claimed the lives of five young men.

The funds raised will be divided equally between the families of the officers, allowing them to use the money as they see fit. The federation expressed gratitude for the overwhelming public support received during this challenging time.
