Gabby George Set for Brighton Move Ahead of Women's Super League Season
Gabby George, a defender for Manchester United, is reportedly close to transferring to Brighton before the upcoming Women's Super League season.
The 29-year-old has one year left on her contract, which United extended in January, and Brighton is expected to pay a significant fee for her services. George is looking for more regular playing time and is seen as a strong addition to Brighton's squad.
During her tenure at United, George made over 50 appearances and contributed to the team's Women's FA Cup victory in 2024. She previously played over 100 matches for Everton and has three caps for the England national team. Brighton has also strengthened its roster this summer by signing players like Switzerland captain Lia Walti and midfielder Emilie Joramo. The team finished seventh in the WSL last season and will begin the new campaign against Arsenal on September 6.
