Gabriel Martinelli Transfers to Al Hilal for Club-Record £60m
Gabriel Martinelli has officially left Arsenal to join Al Hilal in a record-breaking transfer valued at £60 million. This deal marks the highest fee Arsenal has received for a player, surpassing the previous record of £40 million from the sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool in 2017.
Martinelli, who joined Arsenal from Brazilian club Ituano at the age of 18, made 191 Premier League appearances for the Gunners, scoring 41 goals and providing 24 assists. Last season, he played 30 league matches, but only started 11 times, which was his lowest since the 2020/21 season.
His transfer to the Saudi Pro League follows a declined offer from Galatasaray earlier this summer. With Martinelli's exit, Arsenal has now generated over £120 million from player sales this summer, continuing a trend of significant changes in their squad under manager Mikel Arteta.
