Gabriel Martinelli Transfers to Al Hilal for Record £60m
Gabriel Martinelli has officially left Arsenal to join Al Hilal in a record-breaking transfer valued at £60 million. This deal marks the highest fee received by Arsenal for a player, surpassing the previous record of £40 million from the sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool in 2017.
During his time at Arsenal, Martinelli made 191 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 41 goals and providing 24 assists. Last season, he contributed to Arsenal's title-winning campaign with 30 league appearances, although only 11 were as a starter, his lowest since the 2020/21 season.
The transfer includes a fixed fee and a sell-on clause, and it follows Martinelli's decision to decline an earlier offer from Galatasaray worth approximately £38.9 million. With this move, Arsenal has now generated over £120 million from player sales this summer.
