Gabriele Minì to Make Formula 1 Debut in Mexico
Gabriele Minì is set to make his Formula 1 weekend debut for Alpine during the opening practice session at the Mexico City Grand Prix, taking over Franco Colapinto's car, the A526.
This session is part of Alpine's rookie-driver requirements and marks Minì's first official appearance in Formula 1 after extensive preparation in the team's simulator and Testing Previous Cars program. He joined the Alpine Academy in 2023 and currently ranks fourth in the Formula 2 standings, having achieved two victories and seven podium finishes.
Minì has previously tested the 2025 A525 in private sessions, but the Mexico event will introduce the challenges of live race-weekend conditions and high altitude. He has been preparing at Alpine's Enstone facility with simulator sessions and engineering briefings. His primary objectives during the practice will be to gather data for the team and ensure the car is ready for Colapinto's afternoon session.
