During the event, a poignant moment occurred when Rebel, in her wheelchair, presented her friend Britt Baker with a signature medical glove. Baker then used the glove to secure a victory in a six-woman tag team match. The emotional exchange between Baker and Rebel resonated with the audience as they shared a moment of connection before leaving the ring.
Rebel disclosed her ALS diagnosis in May, prompting friends and colleagues, including Kim and Baker, to engage in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to promote awareness and funding for research. AEW and its CEO Tony Khan also contributed to I AM ALS, an organization dedicated to ALS advocacy.
