Gareth Southgate Unlikely to Return to Club Management
Gareth Southgate, the former manager of the England national football team, has stated that he does not anticipate returning to club management in the Premier League. His last match in charge was the Euro 2024 final, where England was defeated by Spain.
Southgate, who previously managed Middlesbrough from 2006, mentioned that he has not enjoyed football in recent times, even losing interest in celebrating victories. Since resigning, he has engaged in media work and lectured at Harvard Business School, stating that he has appreciated the past 18 months of his life.
In a recent discussion, Southgate also commented on the ongoing situation with Manchester City, which was found guilty of breaching financial regulations. He acknowledged the complexities involved in such cases and emphasized that the outcomes are not beneficial for football.
