Garrett Whitlock Placed on Injured List by Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox have announced that Garrett Whitlock, a key setup man, will be placed on the 15-day injured list due to inflammation in his right elbow. In his absence, the team has recalled right-hander Greg Weissert from Triple-A.

Whitlock, who has been a standout performer since being selected from the Yankees in the 2020 Rule 5 Draft, has had an impressive season with a 2.05 ERA over 44 innings. Despite the injury, he has expressed confidence that there are no structural issues with his elbow.
