Gateshead Club Anticipates Late Wage Payments for Players
Gateshead Football Club is expecting to pay overdue wages to players and staff by Tuesday, following a challenging period as they await new investment. The interim chairman, Graham Wood, indicated that the club has not paid wages for September due to ongoing financial difficulties.
An agreement has been reached with the American investment firm Flacks Group for a takeover, which includes an immediate loan to cover the overdue wages. Although the funding was released on Friday, international banking procedures have delayed the transfer, with funds expected to arrive by Tuesday at the latest.
On the field, Gateshead is struggling, sitting at the bottom of the National League with only four points from 33 possible this season. The club recently parted ways with manager Lee Cattermole after a series of poor results, including 11 losses in 13 league matches.
