Gayle Benson Criticizes Saints' Recent Performance
Saints owner Gayle Benson has voiced her disappointment with the team's recent performance following three straight losses, bringing their record to 1-4. This downturn follows a promising start to the season, including a strong second half against the Lions and an upset victory in Baltimore.
The Saints faced a significant defeat against the Falcons and struggled against the Vikings, where quarterback Tyler Shough managed only 96 passing yards. Benson stated that she will not accept the current level of performance and is committed to making necessary changes to enhance the team's execution and preparation.
Despite optimism at the beginning of the season, the Saints rank 31st in scoring defense, which has been identified as a major issue. General Manager Mickey Loomis, who has been with the team since 2000, remains in his position despite the team's struggles, and his future, along with that of head coach Kellen Moore, is now under scrutiny as the season progresses.
