Gbar in Liverpool to Reopen After License Suspension
Gbar, a gay bar located on Tithebarn Street in Liverpool, is set to reopen following a license suspension that occurred after three men were stabbed outside the venue on September 20.
The Liverpool Council's licensing and gambling sub-committee has approved the bar's reopening, allowing it to operate until 08:00 BST, despite a recommendation from Merseyside Police for a 06:00 BST closure. The bar's management has implemented changes, including new staffing and training protocols since the incident.
Three men have been charged in connection with the stabbing and are scheduled to appear in crown court later this month. The police noted that prior to the stabbing, there were several unreported incidents, including an affray involving around ten individuals, which highlighted issues with the venue's reporting practices and CCTV coverage.
