Geelong Football Club captain Patrick Dangerfield has recognized the club's errors concerning a concussion waiver that absolved them of future liability for a teammate's brain injuries. The club is expected to submit its response to the AFL's inquiry by the end of the day on August 11.

Geelong president Grant McCabe stated that the board convened to discuss the response, which will outline the club's actions in handling the situation. He emphasized the club's commitment to providing top-notch care and support for its players.

Defender Jake Kolodjashnij confirmed he was the player involved in the waiver, while Dangerfield noted he learned about the deal through social media. He acknowledged that the club made mistakes and highlighted the need for clarity and context regarding the situation. An emergency board meeting is scheduled as CEO Steve Hocking faces scrutiny for not filing the deal with the AFL or the AFL Players' Association.
