Geerike Schreurs secured her victory at the Gravel Worlds 2026, narrowly defeating Rosa Klöser by just 0.01 seconds. The race, which took place under challenging conditions, saw Schreurs finish with a time of 7:19:37, breaking the previous course record of 7:36:42.
The women's race began with a relatively controlled pace, featuring an early breakaway by American Hannah Shell, who was eventually caught. The decisive moment came in the final 20 to 30 miles when Schreurs and Klöser broke away, leading to an intense sprint finish.
Despite a hard crash during the race, Klöser managed to regroup and join Schreurs for the final push. The competition was fierce, with both riders familiar with each other's racing styles, making for an exciting conclusion. Charlotte Clarke from New Zealand completed the podium.
