Genesis Faces Challenges in Barcelona WEC Race
Genesis faced a challenging weekend at the World Endurance Championship's Barcelona 6 Hours, marked by a promising qualifying session followed by a disappointing race.
Daniel Juncadella, who started third, initially took the lead but made an error on the wet track, dropping to 16th place. Despite recovering to 11th by the end of the race, the team was unable to secure points, finishing a lap behind the winning Toyota.
Genesis had shown strong qualifying performance, with Mathys Jaubert achieving the brand's first Hypercar pole position. However, technical issues and setbacks during the race hindered their competitiveness, prompting the team's chief engineer to acknowledge the need for improvement as they prepare for the next event in Monza.
