George Russell Highlights Lando Norris's Strengths at High Tyre Degradation Circuits
George Russell has acknowledged Lando Norris's exceptional skills at circuits characterized by long corners and high tyre degradation, following Norris's consecutive victories in Hungary and the Netherlands.
Norris, the reigning F1 world champion, secured pole position and wins at both the Hungaroring and Zandvoort, aided by a significant upgrade from McLaren. Russell, who finished third in the Dutch Grand Prix, expressed that Norris's strong performance was expected given the similarities between the two tracks.
Looking ahead to the upcoming race at Monza, Russell anticipates a more competitive performance from Mercedes, despite the circuit's different characteristics. He noted that while Monza features some long corners, it is primarily known for its long straights and heavy braking zones. Russell also mentioned that Norris's strengths at high-degradation circuits make him a formidable competitor.
