George Russell Supports Frederik Vesti for Cadillac F1 Seat in 2027
Cadillac has announced Sergio Perez will race for them in the next Formula 1 season, but the status of Valtteri Bottas remains uncertain. George Russell has pointed to Mercedes reserve driver Frederik Vesti as a surprising contender for a seat with Cadillac in 2027.
While various candidates are being considered, including Colton Herta and Esteban Ocon, Vesti stands out as he aims for his F1 debut after finishing second in the 2023 F2 standings. He has been balancing his Hypercar responsibilities with Cadillac and has participated in multiple FP1 sessions for Mercedes, including a recent outing in Mexico.
After his latest performance, Vesti expressed satisfaction, contrasting with Herta's struggles, who finished last in his session. Herta is also vying for the Cadillac seat and hopes to secure a superlicence by participating in upcoming races.
