Giancarlo Stanton Faces Potential Season-Ending Injury
Giancarlo Stanton, an outfielder and designated hitter for the New York Yankees, may not return for the remainder of the season following a calf strain. The injury was reported by Yankees manager Aaron Boone after Stanton fell while running the bases during his rehabilitation this past week.
This latest setback comes as Stanton was already recovering from a right calf strain that had limited him to just 24 games this season. Boone indicated that Stanton will continue to work on both injuries, although the timing poses challenges.
Stanton, who is 36 years old, has faced multiple recovery issues since his initial injury on April 24. He had been making progress but experienced a flare-up while running in June. As of now, he has a batting average of .256, with three home runs, six doubles, and 14 RBIs.
