Giants' Abdul Carter Sets Ambitious Goal for NFL Season
Abdul Carter, a second-year pass-rusher for the New York Giants, has expressed his ambition to become one of the greatest football players in history as he enters his second NFL season. This statement follows a rookie year that was marked by challenges, including being benched for tardiness and recording only four sacks over 17 games.
Despite the struggles of his debut season, Carter was recognized for his performance, achieving 72 quarterback pressures and leading the league with 48 quick pressures. He emphasized that while sacks are important, affecting the quarterback is his primary focus.
Carter, who is currently wearing No. 3 after previously seeking to wear the retired No. 56, aims to make a significant impact alongside teammates Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and rookie Arvell Reese this fall. He hopes to earn recognition among the all-time greats in the sport.
