Giants and Saints Expressed Interest in Gervon Dexter Trade
The New York Giants and New Orleans Saints were reportedly involved in trade discussions with the Chicago Bears concerning defensive tackle Gervon Dexter. However, the Bears finalized a deal this morning, sending Dexter to the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a fifth-round pick and cornerback Clark Phillips.
Dexter, who was selected 53rd overall in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Bears, has a four-year rookie contract valued at $6,723,732, which includes a signing bonus of $1,889,988. He is entering the final year of his contract in 2026, with a base salary of $1,591,872.
During the 2025 season, Dexter participated in all 17 games for the Bears, accumulating 44 total tackles, six sacks, and two fumble recoveries. Both the Giants and Saints are anticipated to continue seeking improvements for their defensive lines ahead of the regular season.
