Giants Coach Evaluates Quarterback Options Ahead of Week 7
The New York Giants are considering their quarterback options for the upcoming Week 7 matchup against the Texans. Head coach John Harbaugh indicated that a decision is being finalized following J.J. McCarthy's strong performance in the fourth quarter of the recent game against the Saints.
Jameis Winston has been the starting quarterback since Jaxson Dart's knee injury, but his position may be in jeopardy after McCarthy's impressive showing. Winston has played in five games, starting four, and has completed 57.0 percent of his passes for 957 yards, with seven touchdowns and five interceptions. In the last game, he threw for 152 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions before being replaced by McCarthy.
McCarthy completed 11 of 21 passes for 243 yards, including a touchdown and an interception, leading the team to three scoring drives in the fourth quarter. Harbaugh emphasized that the team's focus is on making the best decision to enhance their chances of winning.
