Giants Halt Payments to Harrison Bader Following Scooter Accident

The San Francisco Giants have decided to suspend payments to outfielder Harrison Bader after he worsened an existing foot injury in a scooter accident that occurred early Sunday morning in San Francisco.

Bader has been sidelined since late May due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The team indicated that the injury has deteriorated following the incident, which took place around 2 a.m. in the Marina District. Bader was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Bader, who signed a two-year contract worth $20.5 million with the Giants, is owed $1.42 million for the remainder of the season. Prior to his injury, he had a batting average of .170 with five home runs and 14 RBIs in 30 games. This incident marks a second scooter-related mishap for Bader, who faced suspension during his college years for a similar accident.
