Giants Promote Nate Furman Amid Injury to Jesus Rodriguez
The San Francisco Giants have announced the promotion of infielder Nate Furman to their major league roster. This move comes as Jesus Rodriguez has been placed on the injured list due to an elbow injury.
Furman, who was acquired as part of a trade in 2024, has shown impressive performance in the minor leagues, particularly in Triple-A where he posted a .284 batting average with seven home runs and 18 stolen bases in 95 games. His strong finish to the previous season included a .369 average and an 1.100 OPS across four levels.
Rodriguez, who has been limited in play since his recall in July, is dealing with right elbow neuritis and has a .728 OPS in 22 games this season. With the Giants opting for an infielder to fill the roster spot, Furman's promotion aims to bolster the team's depth.
