Giants RB Cam Skattebo Contemplated Retirement After Ankle Injury
New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo revealed that he thought about retiring after suffering a dislocated ankle, an open tibia fracture, and a ruptured deltoid ligament during his eighth game of the 2025 season.
Skattebo reflected on his injury, stating that the first month post-injury made him question his desire to continue playing. However, he ultimately decided to return to the game, expressing gratitude for the experience and excitement for his future performance.
In his rookie season, Skattebo rushed for 410 yards and five touchdowns before his injury. He also recorded 24 receptions for 207 yards and two touchdowns. The Giants selected him in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and he is expected to be the starting running back this season.
