Giants Release Running Back Najee Harris
The New York Giants have decided to release running back Najee Harris, who recently voiced concerns regarding the distribution of touches in the team's running game.
During his time with the Giants, Harris played five games, starting one, and recorded 31 carries for 99 yards. In a recent game against the Saints, he had four carries for just two yards over 11 snaps. Prior to the game, there were expectations that he would have a larger role.
The decision to release Harris may be linked to his candid remarks about the challenges of getting into a rhythm with limited opportunities. Harris, a first-round pick in 2021, previously had four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers before suffering an Achilles injury in 2025.
