Giants to Sign Dean Lowry to Practice Squad Ahead of Week 1

The New York Giants are preparing to enhance their defensive line by signing veteran Dean Lowry to their practice squad ahead of their Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, Lowry's addition will allow him to be one of the two players elevated to the active roster on game days. Lowry, who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers over the last two seasons, missed the entire 2025 season due to a torn ACL and was released during the team's final roster cuts this summer. In 2024, he recorded five tackles and one sack in 12 games, contributing to a career total of 271 tackles, 16.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, and five fumble recoveries across 132 games with Pittsburgh, Minnesota, and Green Bay.

This signing comes as the Giants have made significant changes to their defensive line this offseason, bringing in new players including Shelby Harris, DJ Reader, C.J. Okoye, and rookie Bobby Jamison-Travis.
