Giants to Start J.J. McCarthy as Quarterback This Week
The New York Giants have decided to start J.J. McCarthy as their quarterback for the upcoming game against the Houston Texans.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, McCarthy will take over the role from Jameis Winston, marking his first start since joining the team from the Vikings earlier this season. McCarthy previously stepped in for Winston during a game against the Saints, where he completed 11 of 21 passes for 243 yards, including a touchdown and an interception, helping the Giants narrow a significant deficit.
McCarthy, who missed his rookie season due to a knee injury, had a challenging second season with the Vikings, starting 10 games amid various injuries. With the Giants aiming to maintain their position in the NFC East following Jaxson Dart's ACL injury, McCarthy is set for an extended opportunity to prove himself.
